Michele serves as project manager and team developer for designing interpretive messaging and exhibits and at nature centers, outdoor education facilities and utility education centers (energy, water, wastewater). Completed projects include interactive exhibits, learning centers and educational materials for student field trip programs and follow-up activities.
All programs are theme-based and consistent with state educational mandates and guidelines, including Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Environmental Education Initiatives (EEI).
Ecotourism marketing is distinguished by the promise of providing an outdoor travel experience based upon environmental stewardship principles. The quality of subject area knowledge by a content expert is essential for success. Michele translates core scientific concepts into clear and engaging ecotourism and stewardship messages, applied to diverse environments and travel experiences.
Michele has extensive experience with research, content development, writing and editing for historic summaries, exhibits, graphic panels, websites and social media.
Grant writing for federal and state agencies requires specialized skills. Michele has developed grant applications for federal, state and nonprofit grant projects, including needs assessment and validation, funder matching, budget building, grant writing and fulfillment.
Michele works with government agencies and environmental nonprofit organizations, exhibit designers, media directors, science educators, marketing firms and other partners. Project management begins with needs assessment and moves through goal setting, timelines and intermediary targets, project completion, and follow-up reporting.
